Special News

The people at Grainsby have now virtually finished their restoration of the church and the difference is amazing. The new photo is intended to be flattering, but you can see the difference!
We still intend to re-do some lighting and to improve the path outside.
---------------
The path and the lighting have now been done. Thanks to Doreen Stevenson, our local District Councillor, for arranging grant aid.

St Nicholas’s is the smallest church in the group and by far the simplest. But its charm is a match for any of the others and the acoustics are extremely flattering. It’s essentially a single room with a tower at the west end, medieval in origin, but very extensively rebuilt in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. There is a small but very enthusiastic congregation and they have taken on a highly successful restoration program over the last few years Normally we meet for evensong on the third Sunday in the month. For times see here.
